These Brazilian kids have been learning English by gently correcting celebrities’ grammar on Twitter.
I love that they are learning english but I think this is not a good way to learn it. What happened to reading a book and writing an essay? There’s tons of way we could learn english… Correcting a celebrity tweet or correcting other people doesn’t teach you English. It teaches the kids to behave like an infamous internet cult also known as the grammar nazis who believes that the opinions of others are invalid because they confuse “were” to “we’re”.
It’s subconscious discrimination.
Teach them english the old fashion way. Print out english short stories/articles over the internet for them to read. Put time teaching the proper and correct grammar on English class. Let them realize how valuable it is to be well-spoken and well-written in English and in their own language.
Don’t teach them to nitpick on other’s mistake to better themselves.
